I make this site to share writing and research, not to collect information about you. Here is what that means in practice.
Analytics. I use GoatCounter, a lightweight open-source tool, to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data, and does not track you across other sites — which is why you will not see a consent banner here. There is nothing to opt out of.
The contact form. If you write to me through the contact page, your message reaches my inbox by way of Web3Forms, and a Cloudflare Turnstile check confirms you are not a bot. I use what you send only to reply.
The newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored with Buttondown for the sole purpose of sending you posts. It is double opt-in, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
Hosting. The site runs on GitHub Pages. As with any web host, GitHub’s servers receive ordinary request information — including your IP address — in their logs.
That is the whole of it. If you have a question about any of this, please get in touch.
